Donate Blood in Honor of Nicole Ekberg
Location: Howard Village Hall, Activity Room, 2456 Glendale Avenue, Green Bay, WI 54313
In May of 2018, Nicole Ekberg unexpectedly gained her angel wings after a long battle with a rare disease (Aplastic Anemia). This condition required many blood transfusions for Nicole and she was also waiting for a bone marrow transplant.

In memory of Nicole, her parent's, Dean and Debbie, are holding a blood drive on her birthday this year. Dean and Debbie have given a tremendous amount of love and support to the animals (and people) of HEA and we want to do the same for them.

Please consider coming out to donate at Nicole's memorial blood drive on June 20th at the Howard Village Hall. HEA will be present with a few furry friends-Nicole was a huge animal lover!

To sign up to donate, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code: nicoleek
Since our founding in 2006, we have seen great progress in the companion animal welfare world. Needless killing in shelters continues to decline. Organizations across the country are moving toward a no-kill measure. The agreed upon no-kill measure has been defined as a 90% live release rate. Our view is that 90% isn't enough. We are determined to see the day when the remaining 10% receive continued care and love too.

Innovative solutions are produced when killing is removed from the equation.
