Roxanne

This beautiful dark-haired tortie has the metabolism of a teenage human! No matter how much Roxanne eats, she never gains an ounce! Her slender frame makes this pretty girl look small, but she makes up for that with her big personality! Roxanne arrived as a stray. Upon arrival, she had a certain feistiness about her, but as she adjusted she disguised herself as sweet, loving, and ready for a forever family of her own.
Roxanne ventured to our Adoption Center. Her beauty and seemingly sweet nature tugged at the hearts of a large number of interested adopters. She was quickly adopted into a loving family. Shortly after her adoption, that feisty personality made an appearance, and Roxanne displayed some very aggressive behaviors. Understandably, her adoptive family asked us to accept her back into our care as part of our lifetime guarantee. Today, she lives at the Sanctuary where she is happy and content living her best life.

Roxanne shares a suite with two other cats and delights in finishing their canned food when they’re done eating. However, her suitemates have learned that Roxanne’s food is all hers. Sharing is not a two-way street in Roxanne’s room!

Although Roxanne can be selective regarding cats and humans, for the select few that she loves and trusts, there’s a completely different side to this complicated girl. She lets her favorite people hold her and pet her, and she sweetly nuzzles them while purring away!

Sponsors help cats like Roxanne, who are socially anxious and prefer the comforts of the Sanctuary over the accommodations of a typical forever home. We’ve adjusted our care strategies to support her emotional well-being and this petite girl thrives in our care – especially when she’s spending time with her favorite humans – on her terms.

When you choose this special gift option, you’ll have the pride of knowing that you just changed a life! Thank you for helping HEA continue to provide endless love to special pets, like our lovely little Roxanne.
