Fosters are a critically important piece to the companion animal welfare equation. Fosters provide a temporary home for pets in HEA's care. By placing an animal into foster, HEA can begin the process of helping the next one that needs us.

While in your home, our four-legged friends begin their search for a forever home. Just think, you'll be able to show them what life in a home is all about, shower them with endless love, and of course receive companionship in return. This is most definitely a win-win situation.

Words from our Fosters
"Fostering is one of the most rewarding things I've ever done. I see the difference that I'm making every day. By giving each animal what they need, whether it's medical care, socialization, or just the time and love they need, I know I'm helping them on their journey to their forever home."

"Fostering makes a tremendous difference in the lives of kittens who need extra care and adult cats that need extra love. Give it a try!"

"I love watching kittens grow and learn, and watching timid cats and kittens come out of their shells in a home."
Since our founding in 2006, we have seen great progress in the companion animal welfare world. Needless killing in shelters continues to decline. Organizations across the country are moving toward a no-kill measure. The agreed upon no-kill measure has been defined as a 90% live release rate. Our view is that 90% isn't enough. We are determined to see the day when the remaining 10% receive continued care and love too.

Innovative solutions are produced when killing is removed from the equation.
