HUMANITY IN ACTION
On March 26, an urgent need was announced in a single Facebook post.
The objective: Find enough people willing to foster each and every one of the cats and dogs in HEA's Green Bay care network during the upcoming NFL Draft.
The Facebook post that made it all happen was shared more than 700 times.
In short order that need was met - and it all happened because of you!

ALL THE MOVING PARTS
The outstanding community response is something everyone at HEA is humbled by and extremely grateful for. It is definitely not something that our dedicated staff and volunteers take for granted.
As the foster orientation sessions started to fill up, we shifted our communication efforts from recruitment to applicant communications. We also recognized the obvious opportunity to potentially engage all Foster Draft applicants in HEA's ongoing foster efforts.
Because of the strong interest in the draft-related foster opportunity, we will be offering an additional post-draft foster orientation session on May 10th. At this time, this in-person session will be offered to any applicants who applied to foster with HEA between March 25 - April 2 (and have already been approved or will be approved prior to May 10).
Our team also issued the following communications after the original Foster Draft orientation slots filled up:

- Applicants with "In Process" applications received an email to confirm if they would like us to continue processing their application for future consideration.
- Applicants with "Approved" applications who did not register for orientation prior to all seats being filled received an email invite to the May 10th orientation session.
HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?
Our foster team's inbox is currently overflowing as a result of the amazing community response to the immediate need during the draft. This is a really good "problem" to have, but it takes time. Additionally, our team's efforts now turn to the logistics of coordinating the associated animal movements that are part of foster placement.
We anticipate being able to re-open our foster applications shortly after the draft (end of April/beginning of May). If you leave us your contact information, a member of our foster team will be in touch to let you know when the application becomes available. Thank you for your interest – and your patience and understanding.
