THIS IS URGENT!

We love our location! In fact, we're the only companion animal welfare organization in the world located in the literal shadows of Lambeau Field. (We're so close, we can see the 'G' on the south end zone from our parking lot!)

However, during the NFL Draft our proximity to Lambeau Field is likely to have a significant impact on our daily operations. Based on the village planning meetings that we've attended, access in and around our location is expected to be very challenging for our volunteers and staff during the draft.

Understanding this, we've kept one non-negotiable in front of us while planning for the 2025 NFL Draft – make sure the dogs and cats receive the care they need. And we decided that the best way to ensure this is to place all dogs and cats with foster families during the week of the NFL Draft. This is where YOU come in!

We anticipate that we will need at least 40 new foster homes to successfully complete this critical mission. Even if you are not personally able to foster, please consider telling someone you know about this urgent need.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?

We are not planning to reduce intake before or after the draft. In short, we do not want the draft to disrupt the important work of HEA's mission – there are lives depending on us! Therefore, it’s critical that we find temporary homes for everyone prior to the draft.

HOW IT WORKS

Becoming a draft week foster is simple. Here's what your journey to fostering will look like:
  1. Complete the DRAFT A CAT TO FOSTER or DRAFT A DOG TO FOSTER app.
  2. HEA reviews your app.
  3. Draft your foster animal and pick up your supplies.
  4. Pick up your animal before the draft.
  5. Foster (and then foster as much as you want!)​

After your application is reviewed, you'll receive a detailed foster manual along with other onboarding details. Following orientation, you'll be supported by a team of passionate foster mentors!
