QCDs (Qualified Charitable distributions)

Picture

Are you 70.5 or older?

If you answered yes to that question, and you have a traditional IRA, then there’s a smarter way to give to HEA. You can make a contribution, also known as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), from your IRA. This contribution will be 100% tax-free, and this is true for itemizers and non-itemizers alike!

If you have any questions about QCDs and how they may affect your annual tax return, we suggest speaking with your tax advisor.

Thank you for considering this tax-savvy way to help more companion animals!
